Summer Fun and Photos

After a sold out concert in Lake City, Colorado with flutist Becky Weidman (all three of us forgot our cameras!), James and I continued on to the the 2008 IDRS Conference in Provo, Utah.

A couple of weeks later, I traveled over the Rockies again to Durango, Colorado for the Music in the Mountains Festival finale concert. What a cool oboe section!

Another bit of good news is that I will play principal oboe with the Steamboat Springs Orchestra this season! The opening concert is in early October and includes Beethoven's Third Symphony. Check out the link on the right for more information. September concert listing coming soon!

Hah! Too funny ... I saw the top picture and thought, "Did she take the bell off the oboe to play?" because I couldn't see that the stand was extended.

(I do know people who take the bell off to play low notes, but still ....)

Sounds like you are keeping nice and busy, and congrats on the principal position. And B's third, no less. Very cool!
